Writer's Quill

The original version of the Writer's Quill WordPress theme was version 1.0. It was first publish on the WordPress theme directory on Oct. 6th, 2008.

Since that time, there may have been version upgrades to enhance or correct certain feature and/or functions of the theme.

If you originally installed version 1.0, you should upgrade to the latest version. The version release change notes are listed below.

Version 1.0.1

  1. Modified the single.php and page.php to better handle the <?php link_pages ?> function when specific posts have split pages.
  2. Created this lovely Read Me file.
  3. Added <?php the_tags( '<p>Tags: ', ', ', '</p>'); ?> to the index.php.

Version 1.0.2

  1. Modified the search.php to correct a typo found in the text on the results page.
  2. Modified the archive.php, index.php, page.php and single.php to better display "Not Found" message when an invalid request is made. It will also include links to the last 10 posts as well as a link back to your home page. All in a descriptive manner for better navigation.

Version 1.1

  1. Modified the comments.php to include threaded comments for WordPress 2.7.

Release Changes 2.0

  1. Renamed the writers-quill folder to writersquill so that the theme preview displayed the screenshot properly. (Issue surfaced in WordPress 2.71.
  2. If you are replacing any previous version, you can delete the blue-fade folder from your server and replace it with this version. Be sure to copy over any plugins that you have installed.

Release Changes 2.5

  1. Modified the ARCHIVE.PHP, INDEX.PHP, PAGE.PHP and SINGLE.PHP to better disply tags and categories when there many entries.
  2. Modified the STYLE.CSS to better style the comment/reply form.
